What is IIT JEE or JEE Advanced?

The Joint Entrance Examination - Advanced is an academic examination held in India annually. Eligibility Criteria

For JEE (Advanced) 2024, all candidates must concurrently satisfy all five of the following requirements.

Eligibility Criteria 1 - Performance of JEE (Main) 2024 Candidates must rank among the top 2,50,000 scorers in the B.E./B.Tech. Paper of the JEE (Main) 2024 exam (across all categories). The percentages of the different candidate groups that will be shortlisted are as follows: 10% for GEN-EWS, 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and the remaining 40.5% is open for everyone. There is a 5% horizontal reservation available for PwD candidates within each of these five categories.

Eligibility Criteria 2 - Age Limit The candidate's date of birth must have been on or after October 1, 1998. Candidates who are SC, ST, or PwD are given a five-year age reduction; therefore, they must have been born on or after October 1, 1993.

Eligibility Criteria 3 - Number of Attempts A candidate will be able to attempt JEE Advanced twice in each of two succeeding years.

Eligibility Criteria 4 - Class XII (or equivalent) examination A candidate should have taken the Class XII (or equivalent) test for the first time in the disciplines of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in either 2024. Candidates who first took the Class XII (or equivalent) test in 2021 or earlier are NOT eligible to take the JEE (Advanced) in 2024 unless they are covered by the one-time special measure outlined below.

Eligibility Criteria 5 - Earlier IIT admission Regardless of whether the applicant persisted in the program or accepted an IIT seat by reporting "online" or at a "reporting center" in the past, the applicant should NOT have been admitted to an IIT. Candidates who joined an IIT after having their admission to an IIT revoked (for whatever reason) are likewise unable to take the JEE (Advanced) 2024 exam.

JEE Advanced Admit Card 2024
